Keep It Simple

How to Succeed

I believe it is in our nature to over-complicate!

As a runner, I suffer from the desire to go faster, as does every runner I know. Consequently, I read all sorts of advice on how to go faster and put it all into practice. The result?

Generally, I go slower!

So what is the problem? Is the advice bad? Am I misusing it? Or is it something else?

I believe that we are all different, and what works for one person can be disastrous for another. We each have strengths and weaknesses; most of the advice we receive purports to overcome our weaknesses. It is seldom geared towards consolidating our strengths.

There are always self-proclaimed gurus who can teach us what we should do to achieve our goals.  Their advice, though, is based on their own experience, not on ours, so they have no way of knowing whether it will work for us.  Only we know our own strengths and natural abilities!

For example, I read that to improve my running speed I must increase my turnover (or cadence) – the frequency with which my feet hit the ground. The problem is that it means shortening my stride, otherwise I cannot sustain the increased effort. I practiced this for a while, recognizing that at first my overall pace would be slower.

The more I did it the more I hated it and the slower I ran! Clearly something was wrong. My gait became uncomfortable and I found I was not enjoying my running.

We all have a natural style, and it is the best style for us! In my case, I run with a slow, long stride, not a short, choppy one. Admittedly, it’s slower and shorter than it used to be, but I can improve my pace and enjoy my runs much more by easing into a longer stride than by speeding up my turnover.

In the words of the old song, it’s “Doin’ What Comes Naturally

A New Economy In Internet Network Marketing

The economy is in poor shape, but it certainly doesn’t mean YOU have to be.  While manufacturing, construction and even banking jobs are harder than ever to come by, internet network marketing is booming!

Imagine yourself 10 or 15 years ago. Perhaps you had the perfect idea for a small business, but didn’t have any kind of advertising budget. Back then you also had to have a place to work from that would drive your overhead through the roof. However, now through , you can make your small business dreams come true with very little overhead! You can work from home marketing your ideas and have access to millions of people through the internet, greatly leveraging your time and efforts!

The truth is, being in a recession spurns ideas and competition. With internet and network marketing at the fingertips of this US economy, it’s easy to see where the next great surge will come from. Ideas that would have been hard to take to market some years ago can now be driven forward at the spearhead of a great online marketing campaign. And the great thing about this is it isn’t like having a yard sale. Not only can you sell your products to people in your region or country, but you can sell your ideas worldwide!

Another great thing about internet network marketing is you can be involved even while you have a day job. You don’t have to drive anywhere. You just come home from your day job, hop on the computer and start working on your objectives for your online MLM business. Eventually, you’ll be making a great supplemental income. You couldn’t ask for a better Plan B!

Network marketing isn’t a big secret. You’ve heard of Avon, right? How about Mary Kay and Tupperware? Those are great examples of network marketing that really took off in the 1960’s. And think about what was going on just prior to these network marketing surges. In the 1950’s the unemployment rate skyrocketed much like it has today. That’s why these network marketing businesses took off. People were tired of companies that couldn’t keep them employed, so they took matters into their own hands.

You can take matters into your own hands too with an MLM business. Today the network marketing world has evolved into something for everyone, with MLM businesses to suit anyone’s personality and interests. Write down the goals and objectives you think you’d need to make your MLM business successful. Build a good business plan and an internet network marketing strategy, and then start putting it into motion.

With just a little thought and a few hours on the computer each day, you can start realizing your small business dreams and enjoy some great supplemental income. Don’t let big companies determine how much money you can make. They are not the key to your happiness. You are!
