How To Make Money Online
You can make serious money online without spending a fortune. I found the biggest difficulty I faced at first was knowing what to do. Learning how to do it is not difficult – there are many helpful tools for each step of the process.
The secret is to have a plan and never spend more than you can afford.
In this article I’ll show you the plan and suggest some tricks you can use to keep the cost reasonable until you are ready to branch out and build your business up to the next stage.
Step 1. Choose a domain, register it and host it
Your first step is to choose a domain name. See if you can use your own name or, if you have a company already, your company name.
If your name is already taken, try a variation on it. For example, if your name is Joseph Edward Smith, and joesmith and josephsmith are taken, try josephesmith, jedwardsmith – you get the idea!
Step 2. Blog
Now that you have your domain, you need to put something on it to attract people. First, install WordPress, and then start blogging about a subject that excites you and that you think others will find interesting. Take a look at some other blogs to see design and content ideas that appeal to you.
Step 3. Get Traffic
Now you have something out there, how do you get people to see it? You need to spread the word to your friends – ask them to critique it. If you’re on Facebook or other social media, put it out there for people to see.
WordPress has some excellent plugins for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – a fancy word for helping Google find you. You can learn about the best ones to use from the WordPress training included in the program I mentioned earlier.
Step 4. Build a list
You built traffic – now you want to capture their names through a contact form. This is called List Building, and is where you complete the foundation of your business. A good web hosting company will provide you the tools you need for List Building.
You may need to bribe people to sign up. Offer them something worthwhile, and make it clear that you will not spam them or sell their information to others. Your list is the life blood of your business – respect them, and treat them like your own friends.
Step 5. Nourish Your List and Build Sales
You can keep interest going by offering a newsletter service. It doesn’t need to be elaborate, but it does need to be consistent. For example, I have run a newsletter now for a few years where I send out one short e-mail twice a month – you can do it every day, every week or once a month if you like.
The easiest sales to make are information products. You can start with Private Label Rights products (PLRs) which you can sell or give away as bribes – many of these are free. Make sure you have the right to brand them with your own links.
When ready, you can prepare your own products. Your goal here is to build a Sales Funnel to start earning serious money.
Each of these 5 steps is easy to implement, but they will take a little time to learn. The good news is that when you have done it for one niche, it’s easy to add more. Follow these 5 steps and you will soon be making money online.
