Are You Stuck?

Sometimes we get stuck in our business. If it has not happened to you yet, chances are it will some time. Would you like to know how to get unstuck?

Often it’s just a case of making a small change somewhere. The secret is to get out of your head and into your heart, but the question is “How do I do that?

So true Alan! It reminds me of the old Christmas cartoon, “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” It’s one of my favorites because of the penguin Topper (he’s just cute, what can I say??) but also because there’s a song in there where they sing:

“Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door

You never will get where you’re going
If you never get up on your feet
Come on, there’s a good tail wind blowing
A fast walking man is hard to beat

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door

If you want to change your direction
If your time of life is at hand
Well don’t be the rule be the exception
A good way to start is to stand

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door

If I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn
You mean that it’s just my election
To vote for a chance to be reborn.”

Who knew such a good, positive song could come from a children’s Christmas cartoon? It’s always stuck (pun intended :-p) with me, though, but in a good way :-)

What a cool song, Annie – like you say, it really fits! Here’s a short quote to add to your collection:

Great post, as always, Alan. There is so much value in simply focusing on the moment and what we need to be doing right this second. When we do that, the answers come so much more quickly and clearly, and we end up reaching our goal so much faster and with so much less struggle and effort.

    Alan,

As the saying goes… the bigger the why the easier the how. The why being our purpose. If our purpose is big enough… speaks to us… then yes, we will run faster.

We always find that if we come from the heart everything is much easier, and is of more service to others. All that definitely makes our goals a lot closer.

    Thanks,

Running is a creative analogy to use to make the point about keeping your eye on every day things (purpose) to keep your stride right and push you toward the finish line (your goal), instead of leaping/striding too much before you are ready, thus the stumble. And, I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts ~ thanks Alan ;-) Christine

    Alan,
I enjoyed your post. It is so easy to forget the why you do what you do. Myself included, I’ll start to panic if I see things not moving forward, or my business not taking off, when I should just relax and stay on purpose. It’s far better to remember that, act on it, and feel good about it. When you stay true to yourself, things just go better. I am glad I read your post today. By the way, that is a great picture you have as the header of your blog! Very welcoming. :-)

    Hi Alan!

Stepping outside of my head and into my heart and focusing on the true purpose of what I’m doing makes the world of difference when I feel stuck (always assisted by a cup of tea and chocolate digestive of course – hehehe!!)

Always a pleasure to read your posts :) )

    Your friend,

    Thanks Alan,
I love the way you relate your network marketing experience with you racing.

We all run in stumbling blocks along the path of our future but the best way to improve is to make a small change…not trying to jump completely over the blockage and fall flat on our face and then say this not working.

    Thanks for sharing,

Great post! I love the shifts in mindset that we can take in order to alter our results!

And this analogy is perfect because it really ties in with the idea of our business needing to be run like a marathon (from Theuns’ http://wisdomforthewise.com ) – remember it’s the purpose that drives our next stride!
